You make choices every day……What you want to eat? When do you want to eat? Do you want to eat at home or outside? If outside where and what?

All these are routine decisions that you make, while doing so you are planning your meal. Planning a healthy, nutritious and balanced meal for yourself without the help of a health care provider is possible. Before we start meal planning there are a few things we must remember;
  • Meal should meat the nutritional requirement as per the Recommended Dietary Allowance.
  • Meal should not only fulfill your needs but he whole family’s needs.
  • Meal should be easy to prepare
  • Individual likes and dislikes should be considered
  • Planned meal should have a lot of variety
  • Meals should give a feeling of satiety (satisfaction and fullness).
  • Meals should be made with locally available and seasonally available ingredients to make it nutritionally wholesome.
  • Increase the nutrient value of meal by malting, fermenting, sprouting, etc.
  • It should be economical.
